While Dom Perignon may have urged his fellow monks to "come and drink the stars," the national Commanderie is offering our chapter members an opportunity to taste history. The national team, in collaboration with chapters across the country, will join Master of Wine Sheri Morano for a Bordeaux tasting through the ages. We will taste through a selection of wines, each highlighting a theme unique to the history of the region. The tasting will begin with a focus on the early influence of the Romans and then move on to discussing some of the early styles of wines produced in the region. We’ll touch upon the role that Eleanor of Aquitaine played, as well as the influence of the Dutch. Our final wines will highlight how Bordeaux has adapted – first to phylloxera and climate change and then to critics and changing tastes. This event promises to offer a memorable…
